Turriedale was originally restored in the late 90's as a family home. Orkneycrofts took over and thoroughly refurbished the property in the Autumn of 2008.  It has a pleasing mixture of  flag stones and pine floorboards, with a flagstone roof and exterior painted brilliant white. It features a traditional Rayburn oil fired cooker and central heating stove. Turriedale has spectacular views over Heddle toward the West Mainland and Hoy.

It has been equipped with original antique farmhouse pine furniture and contains similar art and antiques as the byre.

A large open plan kitchen and dining area leads on the west side to a sumptious and very comfortable big open living room. This room is a joy to be in with a full range of authentic farmhouse furniture and delightful mix of original art and antiques. The modern world can be found if needed through the Panasonic Viera HDTV with integrated home theatre system and WiFi Broadband.

The comfortable bedrooms (a twin and double) and bathroom are off the kitchen on the east side with pine boards and furniture continuing the farmhouse theme throughout. The Bathroom has a powerful shower in a fully tiled cubicle and large free standing cast-iron bath. Turriedale has a beautiful aspect with splendid views over the West Mainland. The garden area has been left wild and is not part of the Heddle gardens.
